Subjective and Objective Evaluation of Shading on Thermal, Visual, and Acoustic Properties of Indoor Environments

Through objective measurement, subjective and prioritization methods, this study evaluates the impacts of different shading facilities on indoor environment multi-story residential buildings, such as dormitories. The measurements mainly include operative temperature, daylight factor, sound pressure level. measurement is obtained from occupant votes regarding their satisfaction with thermal uniformity, natural lighting, external noise, overall environment. results show that evaluations were significantly more reliable than for predicting environmental satisfaction. method ordered logistic regression was then used to evaluate impact perceived quality varied facilities. In addition, occupants commented function items affecting application preferences provided recommendations improving balconies sunshades provide better environments.
